Privacy notice
Last updated 21 October 2026
OnFrequency is a desktop app that runs on your own Windows PC. This notice explains what it sends over the internet and why. In short: your voice stays on your PC, and nothing is sold or used for advertising.
What stays on your PC
- Your voice. Speech recognition runs locally. Audio from your microphone is not uploaded.
- Your flights and settings. Flight history, reviews, radio transcripts and settings are stored in your Windows user folder.
What is sent, and to whom
- The controller's answers. The text of what you said, with your flight's situation (position, altitude, callsign, flight plan), is sent to the AI model provider (Anthropic) to produce the controller's reply.
- Live traffic and weather. Your approximate area is used to request nearby aircraft from public ADS-B data services and weather from public weather sources.
- SimBrief. Only if you press "Fetch OFP": your SimBrief username is used to download your flight plan.
- Licence check. In the paid version, your licence key is checked with our payment provider (Lemon Squeezy) when you activate it and about once a day.
- Update check. The app checks our website about once a day for a newer version. No personal data is sent.
- Crash reports — only with your permission. If the app crashes it can prepare a report (app version and the technical error). API keys, your Windows user name and folder paths are removed first, and nothing is sent unless you choose to send it.
Your choices
Crash reports can be set to never send in Settings. You can delete your flight history and settings at any time by removing the OnFrequency folder in your user profile; uninstalling the app leaves them in place so a reinstall keeps your settings.
